This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit covers many classroom methods and techniques. I learned about Engage, Study, Activate and how useful and effective this method is for student learning. There were other methods introduced in this unit that are important to be aware of, but that are not likely as useful in a classroom. In addition, this unit conveys the importance of student feedback/correction--when to give it and who it should be from. As a necessary part of this, positive feedback/correction was stressed.Regular and irregular forms- I have a better eye for knowing how to identify these important key differences. Broken down into its four main forms the past tense appears easier to grasp than present tense but perhaps this is just because it is building on the previous unit on present tense. past simple, past perfect, past continuous and past perfect continuous. Just need to remember the keys- if continuous= -ing, if perfect= had or had been and for simple- simply -ed with exceptions.
