Like the previous unit, this unit covered two of the four language skills, Speaking and Writing (Productive Skills, which are used for the purpose of communication.) Speaking activities can be broken down into controlled, guided and creative communication activities, which are based on accuracy, accuracy and fluency, respectively. Accuracy-based activities focus on the accuracy and correct usage of language, while fluency-based activities are focused more on free flow and natural use of the language. Writing is considered the most difficult of the four language skills. Penmanship, punctuation and spelling are important to address and work on the students with, and extra care should be taken to ensure that the creative writing activities are engaging enough and of interest to the students, or it will be difficult for them to find the motivation to practice their writing.
