This unit focused on language production - speaking and writing. It explained that language production is used with the purpose of communication. It highlighted the difference between the way each of these activities is taught and provided insight into useful activities that can be used for either purpose. I found the section on teaching writing skills very helpful, as I am aware that this is one of the more difficult and least focused on parts of English teaching.Reading,listening,speaking and writing are the four basic skills that learners need to receive. It is good for a teacher to incorporate all of them in his lesson. they are equally important. Reading and listening are receptive skills while speaking and writing are productive skills.For reading and listening, it is good for a teacher to choose topics that can really interest the learners. He can use a variety of topics of a period of time to cater for all interests.
