The two mainstream of materials used by the teacher apart from the course books are authentic materials and created materials. Authentic materials are actual materials created outside the classroom. It’s relatively convenient way of using, as they are real and therefore more interesting and motivating for higher-level students. While created materials, the supplement materials from a course book are more graded to the level of the students. The course book should not be the only teaching material used in the classroom. The use of course books alone would not be stimulating and interesting to the students. Therefore course books combined with alternative materials are considered to work very well as teachers and students tend to benefits from the advantages of both. Teacher should plan systematically for a balance of use between them for the best of the classroom.
