This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
In unit 12, I learn about the two productive skills—speaking and writing.
There are three kinds of activities in the classroom that are used to train students in their speaking skills. They are controlled activities, guided activities, and creative communication. Many students may seem reluctant to speak in the classroom for certain reasons. The teacher therefore would have to use different techniques to help the students overcome their hurdles so that they will enjoy communicating with their teacher and classmates.
Writing skills defer a little from speaking skills as there are additional issues such as spelling, layout, punctuation etc. the teacher would have to consider for an activity.
Incorporating creative communication games in the classroom can help you engage your students to learning. Games can be used as warmers or for the activate stage of an activity.
