In this unit, I learned on how to teach speaking and writing, the productive skills. There are two measurements on speaking: accuracy and fluency. Both of them are equally important. Accuracy activities will check that the students can understand use the language in a controlled way before being expected to try to use it creatively in a fluency activity. There are different activities to train/practice both accuracy and fluency.
Writing is also very important in learning English. A lot of students find writing the most difficult.In this unit, I've learned more about different materials I can use while teaching.
Authentic materials is composed of authentic programs, magazines, newspapers, songs, poems, brochures, menus, films on video, etc... If students are able to understand real material, it will boost their confidence.
Created materials are made from the teacher, or cut out from different sources.
If I have the option to choose the course book, I need to analyze it well to suits the needs of my students (price, design, methodology, teacher's guide).
