This was a difficult lesson because downloading videos can often prove problematic, especially for students living in China. It took me all day to try to download these and I only got the first one. Consequently i can only guess how much better the 2nd video was. I know from experience that a teacher's level of attention, preparedness and rapport with the students can all prove to be invaluable when teaching a second language. You have to establish a level of trust to both ask questions and make mistakes.Learning English verb tenses is difficult for native speakers, so I can only imagine what a pain it is for second-language learners. I didn't realize that other languages didn't have as many tenses as we do in English. I think it's important to start off with simple preset, past and future and then work your way to the other variations. As a native speaker I know when to use what tense, but as a teacher I will have to come up with a variety of ways for my students to learn the rules and how to apply them.
