This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit introduced different theories a teacher can use in teaching English. These include: Grammar - Translation, Audio - Lingualism, PPP, Task-Based Learning, Communicative Language Teaching, Community Language Learning, The Silent Way, Suggestopaedia and The Lexical Approach. Over the years, one of the better methodologies has been discovered and defined as \"Engage, Study and Activate.\" These stages can be repeated and done in any order, as long as the teacher beginnings with an Engage and ends with an Activate. The Engage stage has the objective of getting every student to speak at least some English. The Study stage has the purpose of learning new English language concepts. The Activate stage is to then put what has just been taught on into practice. The unit ends on a short discussion on how and when to correct mistakes and errors in the classroom and in grading.
