Unit 9 focused on lesson planning. It began by saying that it is a good idea for all teachers to have some sort of lesson plan before they start class, but sticking to the lesson plan too firmly is not such a good idea. The unit then discussed the functions of a good lesson plan and said what should be included in it. An example of a typical lesson plan was then displayed, as well as numerous sample activity sheets that students could be given.Knowing the various cultural differences, depending where in the world you have decided to work, is vitally important.
What can be considered perfectly acceptable in one country could be highly insulting in another, even to the point where you could lose your job were it to continue.
As has been suggested in this Unit, reading up on the country you intend to work in is an essential requirement and something well worth knowing from the outset.
