This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Classroom dynamics from a teacher perspective is not my forte. It is important to understand the way teacher actions are viewed, and should be minimal, as required for good comprehension of the lesson. Things such as classroom physical characteristics and limits must be considered as well as the makeup of the the students, i.e., which are quiet, confident, advanced, etc. Each student needs to feel he/she is important and should be encouraged.I learnt more about the pros and cons of different books and materials used in teaching English. There were some very good points in the text of situations where to use authentic, created or coursebook materials. In my own lessons I tend to mix different materials depending on the group of students/level/their interest. Not all coursebooks are good and therefore it is important for the teacher to be critical and choose the material carefully.
