Unit 2 focuses on the theories, methods and techniques of teaching English Language. The theories explained were: Grammer- translation, Audio-linguation, Presentation,practice and Production, Task-Based learning, Communicative Language Teaching,Community Language Learning, The silent way,Suggestopaedia and The Lexial approach.The most important thing I learned was Jeremy Harmer method for teaching \" ESA\" -Engage, study and Activate because it explains practically the effective stages and techniques for the method of learning of students and the right way of teaching.This unit deals with the actual structure of English language and how the pronunciations are taught in a systematic way to make it somewhat easier to learn. Topic of the unit is to show how the stresses and intonation on different parts of words and sentences affect the meaning of the words. Intonation also affects the flow of communication because one might elicit a statement whereas another will elicit a response. Understanding how pronunciation and intonation works will help the student have a more effective communication and decrease any chances of misunderstanding
