This was the most complex lesson to date. The video presentation was very helpful. This should have been broken up in to two lessons. I learned that most poor spelling is due to poor pronunciation. Since most native speakers are not corrected many sounds like saying 'budder' instead of 'butter' go on in common language usage. I see the importance of insuring students learn the proper pronunciation and the key role I will play in teaching the correct way to make sounds correctly which will lead to proper language skills.Unit 4 Materials was a detailed explanation of the types of materials that a teacher can use in the classroom. Authentic/non-authentic materials are defined and compared as to their effectiveness in the classroom. Also, clearly defining a teacher's TEACHING POINT is explained through the use of a detailed Lesson Plan template. Also, useful online teaching activities and resources are provided in a materials webliography. Finally, there are several pages of task sheets to check our knowledge before attempting the Unit 4 test.
