In this unit, I was able to expand my knowledge of the past tense and see how to apply it correctly. It taught me how to explain the past tense to my future students in a more simple manner, so that they will be able to grasp the concept more easily. It demonstrated various examples of the different past tense and how/why certain sentences were considered past simple, continuous ,etc. It also educated me on the common student mistakes/errors that my future students may encounter when they will be learning it.This unit goes over essential grammar issues that should be addressed in the teaching atmosphere. A lot of the grammar used in the unit native English speakers kind of just know automatically, but teaching this stuff is a lot different. We take speaking English correctly kind of for granted because we have learned it over a long period of time and we're exposed to it. The teaching of modal verbs and the use of passive and active voices are essential in the English language and seem difficult to teach as well.
