This unit covered the many different ways to evaluate students and provided detailed information for each test, examination and assessment. I learned when specific tests are to be administered, and the reason for each. Placement tests to ensure students are in correct class; Diagnostic tests to determine what students know prior to course, which better helps with preparing lessons. Progress tests to gauge what is being retained and practice tests to help student to prepare and ultimately be successful with testing. The Placement Text examples were very helpful with providing a visual of what would be on the test.
Above all, the most important thing I can do as a teacher with these tests, is to use them to better understand how to effectively teach and reach students, and empower their learning through positive feedback from information generated from the different tests.
