This unit describes how to teach students to use intonation and stress according to the speaker?s purpose and to use phonemic symbols. Moreover, I have realized pronunciation and phonology is also one of the most important areas in teaching English. I have learned two types of intonation, four major ways of joining sounds, phonemic symbols, speech organs and places of articulation. Moreover, it shows which ways are appropriate to use for teaching these areas. This unit is also great like the previous units.This unit covers the basic principles of grammar. It teaches all the basics that will be further used in teaching and learning English. From this particular unit i learned more than just the basics of nouns, adjectives and verbs. As a result i do feel it is easier now to not only understand the English that i use but to also teach it to others. For example, i could now do a lesson simple on nouns and verbs as an intro lesson. Later i could follow it up with adverbs and adjectives and finish with pronouns etc.
