This unit is based on the progress process of a course design and the different stages of contact with our clients from first meetings and a need analysis to find out what the students need or want to be taught. It also points out the different types of syllabus that can be used and how to design one. This course covers the various ways in which we can evaluate our students to see their progress , ourselves as teachers and the materials used for the courses in order to determine the efficiency the materials.This unit covered four types of past tenses: past simple, past continuous, past perfect and past perfect continuous. Following the equivalent lesson for the present tenses, a common structure was identified for the continuous, perfect and perfect continuous structures. For each of the four tenses, there was an explication of the structure and usage of the tense, together with some sample teaching ideas for the Activate-stage. The materials also highlighted some errors commonly made by learners for each tense.
