This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit covered the 7 most commonly used future tenses and how each is to be used and in what situation.
As I have mentioned in previous unit reflections, as a native English speaker, I do not drill down into the number of tense structures and how they are used, this is something which comes naturally. As has been stated from the very beginning of this course, it is through usage and exposure to a language that a student learns, therefore it would be my hope that as my students become more comfortable with the language through exposure that tenses will begin to come automatically to them.
It was also interesting to note that we use 2 of the present tenses, the simple and the continuous to convey future actions and not just those in the present.
The video in this unit provided some very useful tips to identify tense structure in all 3 tenses, the past, present and future.
