This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Unit 17 reviewed the kinds of equipment and eating aids that may be available to EFL teachers in the classroom. In some ways, the equipment list struck me as old fashioned since things like overhead projectors are reminiscent of my own schooldays, decades ago. Still, I think any element described in this unit will be available to me at the discretion of whatever school I work for and the best practices suggestions will be valuable under those circumstances. The unit gives an overview of technical and other equipment that could be used in a classroom. The main point to take into account once using any of the teaching aids is preparation - whether it's a technical thing or just a handout. Technical aids such as CD/DVD/Video players, OHP or computers could be hard to use if there hasn't been some practice in advance; also something can always go wrong with technical stuff, so there should always be a backup plan.
