This unit was all about course books and lesson materials. I like that both the advantages and disadvantages of course books were given. I personally think it is a good idea to use some sort of course book, but not to rely too heavily on it. In one of my language classes in college, I had a professor that would just sit in the front of the class and read out of the book to us. Many people in the class struggled because it was hard for them to learn that way. We basically had to figure everything out on our own as we went along. On the other hand, I had another professor in another class that had a textbook, but came up with a lot of her own activities and such to go along with the topic. I learned so much in that class and it was fun too. I think it is very important to get out of the book every so often to keep things interesting and geared towards the students in the class.
