In unit eighteen I learned about modal auxiliary verbs, phrasal verbs and the passive voice. Modal auxiliary verbs allowed me to understand how certain verbs can express a number of different ideas if it is used. I learned about the passive voice and how to identify typical mistakes. Also teaching ideas were given so I can better lead my students when discussing this part of the lesson. Phrasal verbs were also discussed and how it should be mentioned frequently so the students can grasp a better understanding.Common problem situations are always expected and it is important to be aware of them. The solutions presented in this lesson are very helpful although is very hard to predict almost every situation that could arise while teaching. It is important to have certain qualities such as empathy to feel the way students feel when we deal with problematic situations. If we develop personal interest in students they can perceive it and feel more motivated to cooperate and take active part during their learning process.
