This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Unit 9 covered the basics of writing a lesson plan. Although relatively short an to the point I found this unit the most challenging to date. The lesson plan although fairly straight forward when using the provided form was difficult for me as an aspiring educator. The reason being ,I believe, is that I haven't any practical experience and have not been in formal classroom setting for many years. But with the aid of the material and reviewing the units covering present tense and the use might, might not and may hopefully my practice lesson plans were up to par. This unit was helpful for me to familiarize myself with the difficulties of teaching vocabulary. While vocabulary is the basis of all languages, there are many different methods out there with respects to how best to teach it to students. In the past, I've been taught a few different methods of vocabulary teachings, and I think this unit has helped me further my exploration into which teaching method is best, and especially answering why one way of teaching might be best for a group of students and another method may be best for a different group of students.
