This unit teaches more advanced aspects of English grammar, like modal and phrasal verbs, the passive voice and different types of clauses. Modal verbs are auxiliary verbs preceding other verbs in order to convey many ideas, including obligation, permission and advice. There is a review of the difference between active and passive voice and how each are constructed in all tenses. Finally, there is a discussion of transitive and intransitive phrasal verbs.Unit 7 tackles the language presentation via vocabulary, grammar and spoken forms dealing with different situations, like conversation between two scientists requiring technical words or a friendly exchange between acquaintances requiring casual language. Sample lesson plans on vocabulary, grammar and functions of the English language are illustrated, with pointers on where the different ESA methods are useful and helpful to the teacher?s lesson planning.
