The unit provides a closer look at the different past tenses. These are important for narrating a stories, recalling and recounting events, and explanations for past events. Past simple implies the addition of '-ed' at the end of the verb, although there are a number of irregular forms for words in the past tense that the students must memorize. Past continuous involves the use of 'was' and then the addition of '-ing' for its sentences. Past perfect tense indicates that an action that began in the past has already been completed. Like \"Michael had finished working but 5pm\". And finally, the past perfect continuous tense indicates actions that had begun in the past and may or may not be ongoing. I think that students will have to spend a lot of time on the past tenses to analyze and apply their uses in the English language. It is up to the teacher as well, to teach them well.
