This unit focused on the present tenses - present simple, present continuous, present perfect and present perfect continuous. I learned that there are many different types of present tense forms that, before this, sounded more like past tense to me. For example, the present perfect continuous tense has the structure (subject + aux. verb 'have' + been + verb ing). I assumed the \"have been\" part was past tense. This unit also clarifies which situations to use the various tense to make the most sense. What I appreciate the most, however, is that there is a brief list of common errors made by EFL students. I have seen some of these errors and mistakes in the writing I have edited for people so being able to understand the tenses and the proper contexts these tenses should be used in will be helpful in not only finding the error but also with explaining the error to the students.
