This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Unit 19 provides an overview of how to teach different types of English learners, including beginners/false beginners, one-on-one lessons, monolingual/multilingual groups, business English classes, and young learners. The Unit explains the different approaches to these groups and how they differ. Teaching an entire class of beginners would not be taught the same way as a one-on-one beginner lesson; any group activities, group projects, or peer evaluations that would be commonplace in a class of students would not be suitable for a session with just one student and a teacher. Additionally, a monolingual class and a multilingual class could not be approached in the exact same way; students in the multilingual class have the advantage of using English as the sole common language between classmates, while a monolingual class may communicate with one another in their common language.
