This unit deals with the Present Tense. It divides the Present Tense into four different present tense types: present simple, present continuous, present perfect, present perfect continuous. The unit provides examples of each of these types, and also the usage of these four types of present tense. The unit also provides examples of activities that can be carried out in the Activate stage with the four types of present tense, and some typical erros/mistakes students can make when dealing with the present tense.This unit was very clear, and easy to follow. It discussed the difference between accuracy and fluency when teaching speaking skills, and also addressed the equal importance of both of these. Also, the examples of activities in which these two skills could be practiced were very useful. For the writing portion, it was interesting to note that since English is not a phonetic language, a great way to become familiar and comfortable with writing skills is to expose the students to ample opportunities for reading.
