This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Unit 13 was a mouthful, literally! I've never taken a linguistics course, so many of these concepts were new to me. This section was rather involved, a little intimidating, but added another level to teaching and learning a new language. It changes the way I see the english language--from the concepts, forms of pronunciation, to the diagrams of the mouth, throat, and even the nasal passages. Although this was an intricate unit in terms of concepts, it provided a blueprint for teaching phonology and pronunciation in a grounded manner.Throughout this unit I have learned that the evaluation is bidirectional. You receive feedbacks from your students from tutorials and evaluations by the students. Then as a teacher you can adjust the level of the student with the placement and diagnostic test, you can evaluate the process of the student with the progress tests. Besides that, there are different external examinations as for example Cambridge English Certification, TOEFL, IELTS and so on, from which students can certify their level of English in the European Framework.
