This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Unit 13 talks about importance of teaching pronunciation, how it could be taught and encourages the teacher to do it since it is a common request of English learners. I believe this has been one of the hardest units so far because it teaches phonetical structures that as the chapter indicates are very hard to grasp, especially when you are just reading them. I still find very hard to differentiate between intonation, rhythm and stress because they all depend on the what we want to emphasize depending on the mood or what we want to get from the other person we are speaking to. Also, I still have to become more acquainted with the phonemic chart in order to become more comfortable to teach it. Finally, the hardest part of the chapter for me was the articulation part because it was hard to locate my organs but the video was a lot of help to identify the sounds and the differences.
