This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit was about the importance of lesson planning and why it is important. Lesson plans are important because it helps the teacher think logically, it is recorded document that can be referred to, and it is a working document. Unit discusses the basic principles of a lesson plan. This was most beneficial. The layout of the lesson plan was very explicit and it allows the teacher to be as detailed or not as possible. I liked the ideas of how to plan a lesson, it read very engaging and fun. This unit covered the topic of Past Tenses. Much like the unit on Present Tenses, this unit covered four tenses in total: the past simple, past continuous, past perfect, and past perfect continuous. As the introduction to the unit suggests, the past tenses share similar traits with the present tenses from the previous unit. As with the previous unit on the present tense, this unit offered some helpful suggestions for tackling this in the classroom, such as story telling and playing detective.
