This unit covered the usage of the four past tenses which are past simple, past continuous, past perfect, and past continuous perfect. Past simple is the easiest usually adding an \"ed\" to the root word. Past continuous notably uses the words was/were. Past perfect usually adds the word had to the sentence. And past perfect continuous had been plus the suffix \"ing\" to the verb. This unit was also very difficult and required extra time and attention to fully absorb the concepts introduced.I have to confess after going over this unit that i never really looked at how i talk or write in a direct or reported format. Upon reflection though I can now see how in writing especially I have used the reporting condition when doing safety and incident reports in my past work history. I think the very first topic that should be discussed when starting this program should be about how much we have do daily in our conversations that we take for granted and even more so as we advance in age.
