This unit was a good review of the complexities of the present tense. Having studied several foreign languages, I am very familiar with the English tense system as a result of studying how other languages express different tenses. The greatest benefit from this unit, for me, was the exposure to common mistakes English language learners make while learning the present tense. While it seems correct to use certain words one should first make sure if it is a promise, a possibility, an obligation or a prediction, etc. Passive and active voice is used when the agent is unknown or not important. It is also used when one changes the focus or conceals the agent. Certain difficulties can occur, especially when \"can\" is used.
