These tenses are very tricky and i believe that these should be aimed at higher level students. Most of my students struggle with the past the most out of all the tenses. Continuous past tenses are beyond their current capabilities. My student would have a hard time saying at 11 oclock yesterday when I was eating pizza my friend came to my house. Instead they would say my friend came to my house. I was ate pizza yesterday. I will try to teach them how to use it correctly.In unit 15 we covered evaluation and testing. We began by mentioning several ways to identify a student's language level (tests, tutorials, evaluation by students). We then focused on tests specifically and covered various types of tests (placement tests, progress tests, diagnostic tests, etc) along with their uses and when they should be given to students. We then concluded with a list of external tests that students may take for scholarly/employment/immigration reasons.
