The Past Tenses unit was particularly challenging for me, but going through each of the different forms (past simple, past continuous, past perfect, and past perfect continuous) was a helpful review to remind myself of each of the possible differences in the past tense. Before completing this Unit 6, it had been a long time since I had consciously considered the intricacies of where the past simple and past perfect can appear similar if the beginning of the sentence begins with \"When I verb-ed,\" and it will take some more practice to be able to differentiate these tenses flawlessly. Based on how I struggled with the content in this unit, teaching past tenses to students may be one of the more challenging demands of teaching English as a foreign language overseas, but could also result in being one of the most rewarding once students achieve a firm grasp on the forms and usages.
