This unit explained the various difficulties that arise when teaching tenses. English has three times (past, present, and future) and each time has four aspects (simple, continuous, perfect, and perfect continuous). One of the most difficult aspects of learning verb tense is the fact that many past participles are irregular. Since the irregular past participles aren't formed according to a pattern, students have to memorize each unique past participle.This unit helped solidify the roles of student-teacher whilst helping to identify different theories, methods, and techniques. It included many examples of intriguing games and worksheets to present to students. We were also informed of Jeremy Harmer and his ESA model that all of our submitted materials will follow. This model includes engage, study, and activate. The Boomerang Lesson and The Patchwork Lesson are differing variations of the ESA model.
