This unit covered what students needed to know (of grammar and vocab) and how to teach this using ESA lessons. It emphasized that the level of the students and their environment is important. Somebody working in a hotel might prefer hotel-related vocab such as towel, booking, reservation, a young learner might be less interested in these words. Hence it is important to match the content of the class with the students involved. The unit also covered various examples of ESA lessons.There are five main conditionals which are named, zero conditional, first conditional, second conditional, third conditional, and mixed conditional. Methods of teaching and differentiating the five conditionals can be, but are not limited to, using word games with split sentences, completing sentences as a class, writing chain conditionals, or a game called ' What would happen if ? '. When teaching reported speech, there is a very helpful diagram that lists the change in tenses.
