I learned how to create a lesson plan and why a lesson plan is needed. A lesson plan is needed for structure and help get the ideas of what you want to teach across in a clear manner. It also helps keep track of previous lessons. This unit was pretty straight forward. I feel that I will need tons of practice with lesson planning. However, the unit suggests that experience in the classroom will help for better and more flexible lesson plans.This unit went over the importance of productive skills - speaking and writing.
It went through typical ESA lessons for speaking and writing, highlighting ways to make students comfortable and elicit interest in the lesson.
Both speaking and writing were said to be equally important and the use of games were encouraged for students to enjoy classes.
I found it interesting that components such as handwriting could affect a student's learning
