The point of lesson planning is that i aids the teacher in the development of a lesson and provides for a rough idea of outcomes that will be needed in order to successfully teach a new concept in an esl class. The teacher should not be rigid and allow for flexibility as lessons should not be scripted. It also explained simply what TEFL instructors need to provide when introducing new words and ideas, and I found those very helpful.
