The point of lesson planning is that i aids the teacher in the development of a lesson and provides for a rough idea of outcomes that will be needed in order to successfully teach a new concept in an esl class. Further to this, it help provides structure and helps as a aid to the teacher in order to identify whether all aspects of the lesson is being followed. The teacher should not be rigid and allow for flexibility as lessons should not be scripted. This further provides teachers with a record in which it can be used again for future reference.Unit 15 provided great examples of lesson plans to use when teaching new vocabulary, grammatical structures and language functions. I remember those teachers who followed similar teaching patterns, as they knew just how to teach us to make the information stick. I hope I can do the same one day.
