In this section I learned the process of evaluation and testing students to gauge their English speaking level. I learned the difference between a diagnostic test, a progress test, eternal exam, placement test, and a practice test. It was interesting learning about it from a teachers point of view as I was reminded of all the testing that was done when I was in school and why they were testing me. I enjoyed learning more about the different types certifications and programs offered from external exams for students. Overall I enjoyed this section.1) structured practice, (2) teaching sounds, (3) listening comprehension, (4) learning the fundamentals of the speaking skill, (5) various approaches to teaching communicative skills, (6) reading skills, (7) writing skills, (8) cultural understanding, (9) principles and techniques of testing, and (10) technology and language learning centers. The final chapter deals with early language learning, elementary school foreign language, languages for special purposes, vocabulary learning, and matters related to lesson planning and classroom management.
