The unit covers lesson planning. Lesson planning can be very useful in giving new teachers a sense of structure to keep them from feeling overwhelmed. A lesson can be used as a record for previous lessons. They should include learner objectives, personal goals, language points, potential problems and how to solve them, ESA phases and the expected time frame for each phase. It is important that the lesson be flexible in its timing. Sometimes a subject may need additional time for the students to fully grasp the concept, or the times there may be long gaps of wasted time.Reading and listening skills are equally as important as speaking and writing. Reading and listening skills are also known as receptive skills. We employ our reading and listening skills for two wide ranging motives, for purpose and for entertainment. Receptive skills also play a part in how an individual reads the context of a piece of text. Teaching and learning receptive skills presents problems, however this can be combatted by making sure texts and topics are chosen carefully, and any context is given for difficult language structures before a student tackles them.
