This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit contains theory and examples on the form and uses of conditionals as well as reported speech. The English language is known to have 5 conditionals. They are: ZERO conditional, FIRST conditional, SECOND conditional, THIRD conditional and MIXED conditional. As usual, this topic is a bit confusing for learners, especially when they are taught to use past tenses when talking to the action referring to present or future time, e.g. If I had a wife, I wouldn't do the dishes. (but now he does the dishes, because he doesn't have a wife) A good thing is that with this topic teachers can foresee the most unclear issues and avoid errors/mistakes.
Reported speech is another tricky grammatical topic. Verb tenses, pronouns and time expressions should be changed when reporting direct speech. So it is very important to present the rules one by one and to practice them slowly and thoroughly.
