This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Unit 4 provided a highly detailed overview of the four different present tenses: The present simple, present continuous, the present perfect and the present perfect continuous. The unit also gave useful examples on how to teach the tenses within the classroom. As I mentioned in previous reflections because I am dyslexic my path to learning how to read and write was radically different than normal. For this reason, everything in this lesson was new to me. More specifically learning the different present tenses and how to differentiate between them.Reading and writing are the outputs the students give to teachers, these should be observed in two ways, fluency: here the important part is to help the student speak continously and be able to express themselves. The other important output is writing, here puctuality is a lot more important, students should learn how to spell word correctly and how to write down what they are able to say. Lessons should combine both of these to help students be more confident when expressing themselves and to help them improve the language by being more punctual.
