It is important to learn what omissions and basic errors/mistakes students make in the use of tenses. It also also very valuable to use fun games, especially role playing, to get through the basic usages and word order for students to understand the tense. Everyday life and situations can help in organizing activities in the Activate stage. All forms can be practiced as both drills and flow of communication in exercises like journal writing or pair group job interviews.In this unit, I have consolidated my knowledge of the different past tenses in the English language. I can now fully understand the differences between completed actions in the past and interrupted actions that began at a time in the past. There are also many irregular verbs which will need special attention when teaching, such as go/went buy/bought. As these do not follow the regular past tense pattern, they could be more difficult for a non-native speaker to learn.
