This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This was an interesting unit because it is the most relevant to me now, as I teach young children in a 1-on-1 online, environment. For my job, I am told to \"correct every mistake\" while this unit and other papers and books I have read say to not correct every mistake when teaching children. With some children, I cannot and will not correct every mistake as I believe that it is detrimental to their enjoyment of learning and hurts their self-esteem. It also says to not speak to children in their mother-tongue and I have found that to be the best way to elicit English from the children. I have also noticed with this course that the British English is used and it can be a bit confusing to someone who grew up using American English. For example, For example, I had to Google \"drill vocabulary\" as we do not call it \"drilling\" in the USA. At least, I haven't heard it in my 55 years.
