This unit discusses grammar in the form of modal auxiliary verbs, the passive voice, and phrasal verbs and relative clauses. This unit reviews basic rules for the proper use in regards to the tense. A chart with the auxiliary modal verbs; may, might, need to, must, have to, have got to, should, can, could, be able to, and would. Examples of sentences are provided to show how the use of modal verbs can change in degrees of formality and meaning.As an English teacher I will be teaching both younger adolescents and business people. The setting will also vary: from private lessons to group sessions. This unit was therefore very helpful in preparing for my future teaching career. I now have a good understanding of guidelines and activities to tailor my lessons for a variety of people, different in age, nationality and motivation. The 'Needs Analysis' will prove especially helpful; thanks!
