This grammar unit was focused on passive voice and different types of verbs and verb phrases. I learned a lot from the phrasal verb section. I have been asked before why we cannot always just interchange pronouns and nouns with each other for every instance. The passive voice is another that I have a hard time making interesting for learners. I only introduce it to the advanced learners. As always I think the most helpful parts are the teaching ideas. I always want to have some sort of activity prepared to demonstrate a topic.Unit 4 was on present tenses: present simple, present continuous, present perfect, and present perfect continuous. Each of these different tenses describe a different state and have different usages. This unit really broke down present tenses as well as gave suggestions of activities to use to engage students in the classroom. I think that it was helpful because even as a native English speaker we learn of the present, past, and future tenses in general terms and there is not as much of a focus on the break down of the tenses.
