This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
I learned that reading and listening are the two receptive skills. There are different kinds of these receptive skills used in different situations or for different purposes- predictive skills, specific information, general idea, detailed information, deduction from context. Some problems to be aware of when teaching receptive skills include the language used in the text, the topic of the material, as well as the task the students will perform. This unit covered the importance of books and materials in the classroom. Moreover, the advantages and disadvantages of authentic and created materials, as well as the best use and options for course books.
