From this unit,I've known the importance of pronunciation and phonology.In this unit,I've learned a lot about intonation.This unit also told me techniques for indicating and teaching intonation:nonsense words,by gesture,humming or singing ,the board.I've known more about stress techniques for indicating and teaching stress,sound joining and linked speech.From this unit,I've also learned more about the phonemic alphabet,phonemic symbols,articulation,in addition,I've known the techniques for the pronunciation of individual sounds,and when to teach pronunciation.Unit eleven presents four basic language skills ,but concentrates on the first two skills,the reading and listening skills.Reading and listening skills are known as receptive skills.Emphasis is made on incorporating all these skills into our lessons if we want to have a balanced approach.Reasons for reading and listening,how to read and listen and specialist skills which should be employed during reading and listening.Problems related to listening and reading were also looked into and ways to address such problems were equally outlined and explained in details.
