Unit 8 is a good overview of the future tense in English. The unit begins by stating that the future is probably the most complex in English to teach. Although I have taught intermediate and advanced classes it had never occurred to me just how many ways/forms there are in English to express future events. So I must agree with this statement. The unit presents the seven main forms used to express the future and also gives the usages, mental/temporal intentions, and teaching ideas for each one.This lesson discusses a concept that we all inherently understand, but rarely think about or discuss. There are different purposes for reading and listening depending on the situation, and the way you listen or read will actually change depending on the situation. It's a simple concept, but one that is important to understand when teaching a language, because you can use different situations to create higher levels of language retention by mixing up the purpose of the activities appropriately.
