This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Unsurprisingly, the last grammar lesson was the hardest. Phrasal verbs and relative clauses are complex theories, and so in learning them I have tried to break it down as simple as possible. These are all facets of grammar used to clarify the meaning or intention of what is being said, therefore identifying the meaning was a first step for me to understanding the concept as a whole, and I think it will be a first step in teaching these concepts in a classroom. This unit helped me to understand what makes and breaks a good lesson plan. I learned about how to use course material effectively. I was given an ample amount of examples so as to stimulate my own ideas in creating course materials. I learned from the video presentation how to use video and cassette materials, and would now feel comfortable in front of a class using said devices. Overall, the unit taught me many key elements in setting up an effective syllabus.
