I think that, even if students speak good English outside the classroom, the lessons should incorporate words for things or concepts that go beyond a certain area of their lives. It seems that the writing component would feature lower down the priority list because of the amount of time required to teach how to write well.Authentic materials are taken from real life situations, they are newspaper articles, local restaurant menus, sightseeing brochures and other pieces of information from english-speaking countries. These materials are interesting, but sometimes difficult. Created materials are easy and can be adapted to the aims and objectives of the lessons. They are crossword puzzles, word search puzzles, picture stories. they are easier and target specific language.
